Section 1: Service Identity & Academic Use Restrictions

Independent Service Identity

DurifyAI is an independent, third-party "Student Help Tool" that is entirely unaffiliated with any college, university, learning management system (including Canvas), or educational institution. DurifyAI is not endorsed by, partnered with, or officially sanctioned by Canvas, your institution, or any LMS provider. We are a private, for-profit company that provides supplemental academic planning and workflow analysis tools to individual college and university students.

DurifyAI is not a school official under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). While DurifyAI accesses Canvas data (assignment titles, due dates, student names) to provide its services, DurifyAI is not an agent or contractor of your institution. Your institution does not operate, control, or oversee DurifyAI. DurifyAI operates independently and is solely responsible for its privacy practices, security, and legal compliance.

This distinction is important: Any use of DurifyAI is at your own discretion and risk. Your institution may have policies regarding the use of third-party academic tools. We strongly recommend reviewing your institution's technology use policy before granting DurifyAI access to your Canvas account. If your institution prohibits the use of third-party Canvas integrations, DurifyAI cannot be used with your account.

Reference-Only Clause: Prohibited Direct Submission

DurifyAI is a planning and reference tool designed to help you organize and prioritize your academic work. While DurifyAI can help you create learning guides, study plans, and task prioritizations, the final academic work you submit to your institution must be your own original work, created through your own intellectual effort and independent analysis.

Specifically, you are prohibited from:

• Copying text, code, insights, or analysis generated by DurifyAI directly into submitted assignments without your own independent review, modification, and original contribution
• Using DurifyAI-generated learning guides or study recommendations as a substitute for your own original learning and understanding
• Representing DurifyAI's analysis, insights, or recommendations as your own original work to instructors, classmates, or your institution without proper attribution
• Submitting work created primarily or entirely by DurifyAI without substantial original contributions from yourself

DurifyAI can help you understand your assignments, plan your time, and organize your learning strategy. But the actual academic work, essays, problem sets, projects, code, analysis must be demonstrably your own. If you use DurifyAI to help plan or understand your assignments, you must then perform the actual intellectual work yourself. Your instructor and institution may use plagiarism detection software, peer review, or other academic integrity checks to verify that submitted work reflects your original effort.

Your institution may use plagiarism detection software, peer review, or other academic integrity checks that could identify if content submitted as your work was generated by AI or other sources. DurifyAI is not responsible for any academic integrity violations, honor code violations, or disciplinary consequences that result from your misuse of DurifyAI's content. You remain solely responsible for ensuring that all work you submit to your institution complies with your institution's academic integrity policies.

Affirmative Integrity Certification: Mandatory at Signup

During account creation, before you can generate your first Sync Key or use any DurifyAI features, you must actively certify and confirm the following statement by clicking a mandatory checkbox:

This certification must be completed once during account setup. By clicking this checkbox at signup, you are explicitly acknowledging:

1. Your understanding of DurifyAI's purpose as a planning and organizational tool
2. Your understanding of academic integrity policies at your institution
3. Your commitment to ensuring all submitted work reflects your own original intellectual effort
4. Your awareness that DurifyAI is meant to assist your learning, not replace it
5. Your acceptance of full responsibility for any academic integrity violations arising from your misuse of DurifyAI

Section 2: Age Restrictions & Minor Account Policy

DurifyAI is designed for students 18 years of age or older. By signing up for DurifyAI, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. We assume you are 18+ when you create an account. We do not knowingly collect, use, or maintain personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we discover that we have collected personal information from a minor (under 18), we will immediately:

• Delete all personal information associated with the minor's account
• Terminate the account and all associated services
• Remove the account holder from all future marketing or communications lists

This policy applies regardless of when the minor's account was created or how long the service was in use. DurifyAI takes this commitment seriously.

Section 3: WCAG 2.1 AA Compliance: Web Accessibility Standards

DurifyAI commits to maintaining all user-facing materials in compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards, ensuring accessibility for users with disabilities.

Scope of accessibility compliance:

DurifyAI maintains WCAG 2.1 AA compliance for:

• This Privacy Policy document
• All other policy documents (Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, etc.)
• The Durifyai website homepage and public pages
• The Durifyai user dashboard
• The Durifyai browser extension interface
• The Knowledge Base and FAQ
• Email communications and notifications
• All downloadable documents (PDFs, guides, etc.)

Accessibility standards include:

• Screen reader compatibility: All text and interactive elements are compatible with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, etc.)
• Keyboard navigation: Full keyboard navigation support without reliance on mouse input; logical tab order and accessible focus indicators
• Color contrast: Color contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text to ensure readability for users with low vision
• Descriptive alt text: Visual elements, images, and icons have clear, descriptive alt text
• Captions and transcripts: Any embedded audio or video content includes captions or transcripts
• Accessible forms: All forms are properly labeled with associated labels for each field
• Text resizing: Content remains readable when text is resized up to 200%
• No flashing content: No content flashes more than 3 times per second (seizure safety)

Accessibility testing and audits:

• Annual audits: DurifyAI conducts annual accessibility audits performed by an independent third-party accessibility testing firm
• Audit documentation: Audit results and remediation timelines are documented and retained
• Continuous monitoring: DurifyAI regularly monitors accessibility compliance during updates and new feature releases
• User feedback: Users can report accessibility issues to support@durifyai.com and DurifyAI will prioritize remediation

Remediation process:

If a user reports an accessibility barrier or if an audit identifies an accessibility issue:

• Acknowledgment: DurifyAI acknowledges the issue within 2 business days
• Assessment: DurifyAI assesses the severity and scope of the barrier
• Remediation target: DurifyAI commits to remediation within 10 business days or provision of a reasonable alternative accommodation
• Communication: DurifyAI informs the user of the remediation plan and expected timeline

Known accessibility limitations:

DurifyAI maintains a publicly available Accessibility Statement disclosing any known, unresolved accessibility limitations. The statement is updated quarterly and includes:

• Description of known barriers
• Reason for the barrier (if not yet resolved)
• Expected remediation timeline
• Workarounds or alternative methods available

Section 4: Accessibility Support: Accommodations and Assistance

Students with accessibility needs or who encounter barriers accessing DurifyAI's Privacy Policy, user dashboard, or privacy rights processes can request accommodations and support.

Who can request accommodations:

DurifyAI provides accommodations to students with:

• Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
• Hearing impairments (deafness, hard of hearing)
• Motor impairments (difficulty using mouse or keyboard)
• Cognitive or learning disabilities (dyslexia, ADHD, etc.)
• Other disabilities affecting ability to access digital content

• Text-to-speech support: Documents in formats compatible with screen readers or text-to-speech software
• Simplified or plain language: Alternative explanations of policy terms in simpler language
• Expedited processing: Faster response times for privacy requests (shorter than standard 45-day timeline)
• Guided support: One-on-one assistance via phone, video call, or email to guide you through privacy processes
• Extended deadlines: Additional time to make decisions or respond to Durifyai communications
• Alternative communication methods: Communication via phone, video, or email instead of the standard website interface
• Assistance with privacy requests: Help formulating data access requests, deletion requests, or appeals

Custom accommodations:

If you need an accommodation not listed above, DurifyAI will work with you to identify a reasonable alternative that meets your accessibility needs. DurifyAI commits to collaborative problem-solving.

No retaliation or discrimination:

DurifyAI does not retaliate, discriminate against, or penalize any user for:

• Requesting accessibility accommodations
• Using accessibility features or accommodations
• Reporting accessibility barriers
• Having a disability

Your DurifyAI service, pricing, features, access, and treatment will not change based on your request for accommodations.

Ongoing accessibility improvements:

DurifyAI is committed to continuous accessibility improvement:

• User feedback on accessibility is taken seriously and prioritized
• Accessibility is tested with assistive technologies (screen readers, speech recognition, etc.)
• Team members receive accessibility training and awareness
• New features are built with accessibility in mind from the start
